I dunno, I'm just in a MOTHERy mood lately. Maybe because Christmas is coming up and for some reason the MOTHER series feels Christmasy to me. Probably because the Eight Melodies tune sounds a little bit Christmasy. I dunno why but these games always make me wanna cry. -_- I think it's because they come from such a personal place.

Anyways, the more I find out about these games, the more I love them. Recently I found out that along with an instrumental CD, the first MOTHER game also had a CD with actual singing on it. A lot of them are sung by a lady named Catherine Warwick who has the voice of an angel--she can actually sing too!--definitely no auto-tune on those songs. It's really a shame she never got any popularity, because she has 100% more talent than most modern singers these days. And she sang most of the songs for MOTHER when she was thirteen or fourteen, too!

A lot of the vocalized songs remind me of something the Beatles would sing. Particularly the end of bein' friends. That might have been the intention, of course, since Mister Itoi is apparently a Beatles fan. Anyway, make sure you give Pollyanna a listen! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBbRJo…
