Like My Father

I was on the fence about many of the female redesigns in Fire Emblem Awakening. The female ones (especially Micaiah's) for the most part rubbed me the wrong way. Except for Lyn's, and maybe Katarina's and Est's. But for the most part I really liked the male redesigns. Unfortunately one of the only things I didn't like about Awakening in general is that they felt the need to make every female character more sexualized than ever before (probably to draw in a more contemporary crowd). Yes, Fire Emblem has always had its sexy characters, and I don't disapprove of sexy characters in general (there are women in real life who like to show off their bods) but it was always balanced by having different personalities dress the way their personalities dictated. For example, Mia is outgoing and has loads of confidence in herself, so it makes sense that she'd wear something a little sexier. Micaiah, on the other hand, is sensible and an introvert, so her old outfit fit her perfectly. But in Awakening, all the females are dressed in a similar sexy way. 


Anyway, I particularly liked Roy's and Celice's redesigns--they fit them very well and they look so cool beans~!--and I liked that they kept Roy looking like a dorky fifteen-year-old instead of aging him. : )
